Anger:
“I kind of pushed a boy.”

Dear Annie,

Well today I well kind of pushed a boy and the teacher saw it. She has me for math every day and I'm only 11 years old. What the heck should I do?

Caught

Dear Caught,

You say you "kind of" pushed a boy. Did you or didn't you? Sometimes when people get very angry they react so quickly with their hands (or fists) that they don't give themselves time to calm down and think. Since you have time to think about this now, do you understand why you did it? If the same situation happened again, what might you do differently?

After you've thought about why you did it and what you could do differently the next time you get angry, irritated, or just plain fed up with someone, I suggest you talk to the boy and apologize. You might want to talk with the teacher too and let him/her know what you've learned from all of this.

I hope this helps!

Let me know how it works out.

In friendship,

Annie
