Annie Fox for Teens... Hey, Terra!

Annie (AKA Hey Terra!) has been around long enough to have experienced a lot of what Life can dish out. But, it hasn’t been so long that she's forgotten what it's like to be your age. Check out some of the thousands of email questions teens from around the world have sent to Terra. You may learn something useful from her answers:

BF/GF Relationships:
“I don't get to see him very much!”

Hey Terra,

Well I'm with a guy that lives 23 miles away and I don't get to see him very much and when we talk on the phone he never wants to talk more than 30 minutes, unless he is on the phone with me and a friend at the same time. What I'm trying to say is how can we make a schedule for us to meet and him keep his word to it and doesn't forget it and plan something else, cause I really love him a lot.

Confused

Dear Confused,

I'm sorry to have to break the news to you, but this guy doesn't care about you the way you care about him. (I think you probably already know that.) I understand this is a painful thing to accept, especially since you "really love him a lot." But think of it this way, if he really cared, he'd want to spend time with you, on the phone and in person.

When a relationship means more to one person than the other, it's time to have an honest conversation about feelings and expectations. It's better to find out now than to invest any more time and energy into a guy who isn't all that interested.

In friendship,

Terra
