Annie Fox for Teens... Hey, Terra!

Annie (AKA Hey Terra!) has been around long enough to have experienced a lot of what Life can dish out. But, it hasn’t been so long that she's forgotten what it's like to be your age. Check out some of the thousands of email questions teens from around the world have sent to Terra. You may learn something useful from her answers:

Cheating/Betrayal:
“Me and my sister's best friend's boyfriend had sex.”

Hey Terra,

Me and this guy had sex and he wants to keep on having sex with me (and I do too). But he has a gf and she's my sister's best friend. I don't want to ruin their friendship. Me and him are best friends too and it might ruin our relationship too. We like each other but he likes the other girl too. He's 16 years old and I'm 14.

Confused

Dear Confused,

Why do you want to have sex with this guy? Because he asked you to? He already has a girlfriend that he's cheating on. What does that tell you about the kind of person he is? And his girlfriend is your sister's best friend, and you knew that it would hurt her for you to have sex with her boyfriend. She'd be mad at you and your sister would be mad at you.

You say you and this guy are 'best friends' -- let me tell you something... Best friends don't sneak around and knowingly hurt other people. And if you continue having sex with him and he cheats on you (like he's doing with his current girlfriend) how's that going to make you feel?

In friendship,

Terra
