Annie Fox for Teens... Hey, Terra!

Annie (AKA Hey Terra!) has been around long enough to have experienced a lot of what Life can dish out. But, it hasn’t been so long that she's forgotten what it's like to be your age. Check out some of the thousands of email questions teens from around the world have sent to Terra. You may learn something useful from her answers:

Breaking up:
“I should hate him but I still love him.”

Hey Terra,

I'm madly in love with a guy from back home but he cheated on me and done many bad things for which I should hate him but I still love him after all the problems. Last summer I went back home things were fine but now again I tried calling him many time we talked but he never calls me. I just love him and want to be with him. I can't just get him out of my head. Can you please tell me something of what to do so I can have him? When I have him life seems so complete. I've decided if I don't end up with him I'm not getting with anyone else.

Desperately in Love

Dear Desperately in Love,

You are "madly in love" with someone who does not feel the same way about you. A guy who loves you does not "cheat" on you and do "many bad things."

He never calls you back when you call because he really isn't interested in having a romantic relationship with you.

These choices he is making are not within your control. There is no way you can force him to treat you with more love and respect.

You say that if you "have him life seems so complete." Do enjoy being cheated on? Do you believe you deserve the kind of bad treatment you get from him?

You deserve much better than that!

Please wake up and end your suffering. The "perfect" man for you wants to be with you as much as you want to be with him. This guy is not the perfect man for you. The sooner you realize that the sooner you can open your heart and mind to a much healthier relationship with someone new.

I wish you well.

In friendship,

Terra
