Annie Fox for Teens... Hey, Terra!

Annie (AKA Hey Terra!) has been around long enough to have experienced a lot of what Life can dish out. But, it hasn’t been so long that she's forgotten what it's like to be your age. Check out some of the thousands of email questions teens from around the world have sent to Terra. You may learn something useful from her answers:

Wish I had one:
“He knows I like him so why doesn't he call me?”

Hey Terra,

I really like this boy in my class so my friends helped me out and wrote a letter 2 him. I think he likes me but I'm not really sure, but I kinda have a little feeling he likes me. I gave him my number yesterday and he didn't call. What does that mean? Can you tell me why he didn't call?

Zippy

Dear Zippy,

I have no idea why he didn't call yet, but I can tell you that sometimes boys feel pressured when someone hands them a letter like that. And with a group of "friends" of yours focusing all this energy on him, well, I'm not really surprised that he hasn't called. He's probably really confused and a little stressed by all of it.

My advice is that you tell your well-meaning friends to cool it. The boy now knows how you feel. Take some deep breaths and calm down. Stop waiting for him to call you. Go on with your life. If he calls, he calls. If he doesn't, he doesn't. Your survival doesn't depend on his response to the letter.

Go on with your life.

In friendship,

Terra
