Annie Fox for Teens... Hey, Terra!

Annie (AKA Hey Terra!) has been around long enough to have experienced a lot of what Life can dish out. But, it hasn’t been so long that she's forgotten what it's like to be your age. Check out some of the thousands of email questions teens from around the world have sent to Terra. You may learn something useful from her answers:

Pregnancy:
“Is it true you don't get pregnant every time you have unprotected sex?”

Hey Terra,

I was just curious if you had unprotected sex with someone and they told you they came in you but the cum came but out, is that possible? Could that really happen? Is it true that just because someone cums in you doesn't mean you have to get pregnant that time. Because I thought that if someone cums in you then you will automatically get pregnant. And once cum is inside of you it can't come back out. Can you tell me the answer to my question?

Thanks for your time,

Wondering

Dear Wondering,

The answer to the first question is yes. If the guy came inside of you then even if some of his semen came out as he withdrew his penis, some of it still stayed inside. The answer to the second question is no. Not every unprotected sexual intercourse results in a pregnancy. It doesn't happen automatically every time, but every time you have unprotected sex you are at risk for pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Don't risk either. If you're going to have sex ALWAYS use a condom. And if you want extra protection, use a condom with spermicidal foam.

Here's some information you need on birth control.

I hope this answers your questions.

In friendship,

Terra
