Annie Fox for Teens... Hey, Terra!

Annie (AKA Hey Terra!) has been around long enough to have experienced a lot of what Life can dish out. But, it hasn’t been so long that she's forgotten what it's like to be your age. Check out some of the thousands of email questions teens from around the world have sent to Terra. You may learn something useful from her answers:

“I want him back!”
(Continued)

Hey Terra,

Hey this is me again. First off, thanks for the advice and listen to what happened last night after I wrote you. This guy who I had been interested in called me and told me that he liked me a lot and after things died down with me and my ex and him and his ex he would love to spend time with me! I am so happy! This guy is incredible and all, though I still love my ex, this guy possesses qualities that will make me so happy. I don't know if I am jumping into things or not but would you please keep in touch with me? You give great advice. Write back with what you think.... Thanks.

Lost Without Him

Dear Lost Without Him,

Do YOU think you are "jumping into things" too soon? (Because, you see, what I think is not important.) I'm delighted that this new guy who called possesses qualities that you are looking for. Tell me, what are those qualities?

One other thing, the fact that both of you are dealing with "ex" may be you are each emotionally needy and vulnerable. A healthy relationship (which is the only kind worth having) has its best shot at succeeding if both people aren't dragging around old baggage from past loves. You and this new guy might want to talk about what needs to happen before each of you knows that things have "died down" with your former partners.

I hope this helps.

In friendship,

Terra
