Annie Fox for Teens... Hey, Terra!

Annie (AKA Hey Terra!) has been around long enough to have experienced a lot of what Life can dish out. But, it hasn’t been so long that she's forgotten what it's like to be your age. Check out some of the thousands of email questions teens from around the world have sent to Terra. You may learn something useful from her answers:

“My brother and stepbrother aren't nice to me.”
(Continued)

Hey Terra,

Thank you Terra, you are a very smart women yourself. Thank you for your pleasing complements.

I talked to my stepdad and my mom. They told me to try to talk to my brothers. When I talked to them I was trying to be my nicest so I wouldn't end up in an argument. I said to my stepbrother, "I just want you to think about what you are doing to me. It really makes me feel sad when both you and my brother gang up on me verbally. I understand both of you have the same insights but could you please keep your not so nice comments to yourself?"

To my brother I said, "I know sometimes you do try to stick up for me and I appreciate it. I love you and our stepbrother very much but it hurts me when both of you verbally gang up on me with your not so nice opinions." I talked to both of them alone and each one said that they would try harder and catch themselves when they do these things.

You really helped Terra, thank you.

Happier Sister

In friendship,
