Annie Fox for Teens... Hey, Terra!

Annie (AKA Hey Terra!) has been around long enough to have experienced a lot of what Life can dish out. But, it hasn’t been so long that she's forgotten what it's like to be your age. Check out some of the thousands of email questions teens from around the world have sent to Terra. You may learn something useful from her answers:

“What if he's my true love?”
(Continued)

Hey Terra,

Thanks for the advice. So for I am considering it. But Terra, what if he isn't answering it because of a problem and if I just fall in love with someone else, what if he claims he likes me?? I am worried and scared. I can't move up in my life. I mean my cousin phoned him and he was quite aggressive. He said "I don't know you so don't phone me!" and he cut her off. She she was quite offended.

You know how it's like probably if you fall in true love and then you don't know what to do it really kind of hurts? And then you get put off everything, like my mates want to talk to me and I just can't be bothered and it's quite difficult thinking if he loves me or not??

This is very painful. Now what do you suggest -- how can I forget true love??

Unloved True Love

Dear Unloved True Love,

A "true love" happens for BOTH people... Not just for one of them.

There is absolutely nothing in the way this guy behaves to suggest that he "loves" you. I'm sorry to be so harsh, but I'm trying to help you wake up. You and your friends/cousins need to stop harassing this guy with your phone calls. You are not being respectful to him!

You also seem to be confused about what it means to be loved. When you love someone you do not avoid them, speak rudely to their friends, etc., etc.

The longer you cling to the false idea that this guy might suddenly come to you and "claim" that he "likes" you... The longer you will suffer.

Your choice.

But really, don't you have better (move loving) things to do with your life?

In friendship,

Terra
