Annie Fox for Teens... Hey, Terra!

Annie (AKA Hey Terra!) has been around long enough to have experienced a lot of what Life can dish out. But, it hasn’t been so long that she's forgotten what it's like to be your age. Wish I had one:
“I freeze up when I try to ask her out.”

Hey Terra,

I know that this girl that I am in love with likes me. I just don't know how to ask her out. I freeze up and don't know what to say. I really love her and I would do anything in my power for her. Can you please give me some tips on what to say to her. I would really appreciate it.

Dear Frozen,

It sounds like you're putting an awful lot of pressure on yourself and it's stressing you out! You're even freezing up! Why not relax and thaw out? You've got a major crush on this girl and that's making you so afraid of rejection you can't speak. But how can you be "in love" with someone you haven't talked to? Do you know her... have you given her a chance to get to know you? Maybe that's what needs to happen before you ask her out.

I'd start with a simple "Hi. How's it goin'?" and see what happens from there.

Good luck!

In friendship,
