Annie Fox for Teens... Hey, Terra!

Annie (AKA Hey Terra!) has been around long enough to have experienced a lot of what Life can dish out. But, it hasn’t been so long that she's forgotten what it's like to be your age. Check out some of the thousands of email questions teens from around the world have sent to Terra. You may learn something useful from her answers:

Friends and Enemies:
“My friend is mad at me.”

Hey Terra,

I'm really confused. I made my friend mad because I waited too long to call her. I really had no intention of hurting her. I've tried to call her and apologize, but she doesn't pick up. I've got to work this out, if I don't I'll never get over it. Please help.

Sorry Guy

Dear Sorry Guy,

She'll get over it or she's not much of a friend.

My suggestion is that you give her a day or so to cool off and then apologize one more time. You made a mistake. You're sorry. You will try to be more thoughtful in the future. That ought to do it. You shouldn't have to beg a friend to forgive you, right? It's not like you committed murder.

Good luck and let me know what happens.

In friendship,

Terra
