Annie Fox for Teens... Hey, Terra!

Annie (AKA Hey Terra!) has been around long enough to have experienced a lot of what Life can dish out. But, it hasn’t been so long that she's forgotten what it's like to be your age. Check out some of the thousands of email questions teens from around the world have sent to Terra. You may learn something useful from her answers:

Sex and Sexuality:
“Should I tell my mom?”

Hey Terra,

I will be 18 soon and all my friends know that I am not a virgin but my mom and my whole family think I am. I want to break the news before any of my friends do. The thing is that I don't feel comfortable even talking to my mom about sex. (I feel like she is a good Friend.) I don't want my relationship with my mother to be ruined because I didn't tell her something. What do I do?

Scared Teenager

Dear Scared Teenager,

If you feel not telling your mom is getting in the way of your relationship then you should tell her. But first, tell me what what's the absolute worst thing that you're afraid might happen if you tell her?

By the way, are you using protection every single time?

In friendship,

Terra
